Creative Events Organiser….
Casey’s experience in creative events organising stems from her early years of founding a multi purpose creative arts hub in Melbourne, Australia whilst also enrolled in a full time Bachelor Music Degree at the University of Melbourne. This space was run by six artists, performers and musicians who together put on numerous creative events during the years 2008 - 2010. Naturally the skills learnt during this time flowed into other endeavours in later years such as community arts days, small festivals, exhibition openings and music concerts just to name a few.
Stanthorpe Music & Arts Festival, 2021
In December, 2021 Casey worked closely with members of the Southern Downs Regional Council to create a one day Music and Arts festival as a part of the Australian Government’s Disaster Recovery Funding. The project took approximately 4 months to organise and Casey was the sole events organiser. She worked with a $50,000 budget and successfully created a beautiful day for the regional Queensland Stanthorpe community. The line up included local musicians, artists and community groups; musicians, artists and performers from Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast; an open art space with all day workshops; a drawing competition with hundreds of dollars prize money and vouchers; food stalls; artist exhibitions; puppet shows; circus and more. Casey’s events organising skills include (but are not limited to): grant writing and acquittal; liaising with creative artists, performers and musicians; working with council in regards to community funding; budgeting; multi space programming (ei. stages, arts space, workshops, food stalls); event MC; graphic design work including posters, magazine and newspaper ads; bump in/out plans; onsite point of contact; volunteer organisation; infrastructure organisation and planning; legal requirements (ei. insurance, security, licenses, permits, risk management plans etc); and more.
